Make a Difference

Do you believe that everyone  should have richer life chances regardless of their circumstances of birth, where they come from, what they believe, or whether they are considered a minority.

As experts through both our own personal experience and knowledge learnt over decades of working with marginalised people, we provide MARGINALS AWARENESS TRAINING. We provide training courses, seminars, and resources to raise awareness of MARGINALS ISSUES and also guidance and advice to help you to improve the way your organisations relate with MARGINALS.

Defining Marginalised

The interests of the poor and most vulnerable must be prioritised; this includes the most disadvantaged people; and those people who are most excluded and at risk of discrimination.

Shiva Trust pledges to ensure that : Every person has a fair opportunity in life no matter who or where they are, people who are furthest behind, who have least opportunity and who are the most excluded will be prioritised, every person counts and will be counted.

A famous quote from Mahatma Gandhi springs to mind here: ‘the true measure
of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members’.

Marginalisation describes both a process, and a condition, that prevents individuals or groups from full participation in social, economic and political life. As a condition, it can prevent individuals from actively participating. People can be marginalised due to multiple factors; sexual orientation, gender, geography, ethnicity, religion, displacement, conflict or disability. Poverty is both a consequence and a cause of being marginalised.

Investing funds and time to give equal opportunities to the marginalised people within our society. Since 2009 we have enhanced the quality of Marginalised People and communities in their own environments and fostered equality in society through providing Education, Training and Skills, Provisions and Poverty Relief.

We have ambitions to be the expert in our field and to deliver lasting measurable impact to the people we support.

A marginalised person will not be motivated in a dismal environment of an impoverished or undervalued community nor a child inspired to improve their way of life. We build a permanent safe community environment.

We proactively promote equality in society.
