Young People and Children
Marginalised Young people and Children want to become part of mainstream society, to feel more socially included, to reduce the harm, anxiety, fear, depression, isolation, stress and discrimination they feel on a daily basis, but most importantly to be empowered to feel more HUMAN again. They want to be included in the social norm and no longer feel on the margins.
The interests of our most vulnerable must be prioritised; this includes the most disadvantaged Young people; and those Children who are most excluded and at risk of discrimination.
Shiva Trust pledges to ensure that : Every Young person and/or Child has a fair opportunity in life no matter who or where they are, Young people and Children who are furthest behind, who have least opportunity and who are the most excluded will be prioritised, every person counts and will be counted.

‘the true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members’.
Marginalisation describes both a process, and a condition, that prevents Young People and Children from full participation in social, economic and political life. As a condition, it can prevent Young People and Children from actively participating. Young People and Children can be marginalised due to multiple factors; sexual orientation, gender, geography, ethnicity, religion, displacement, conflict or disability. Poverty is both a consequence and a cause of being marginalised. Investing funds and time to give equal opportunities to the marginalised Young people and Children within our society. Since 2009 we have enhanced the quality of Marginalised Young People and Children in their own environments and fostered equality in society through providing Education, Training and Skills, Provisions and Poverty Relief.
We have ambitions to be the expert in our field and to deliver lasting measurable impact to the Young people and Children we support.
A marginalised Young person will not be motivated in a dismal environment or an impoverished or undervalued community; nor a child inspired to improve their way of life. We build a permanent safe Family environment.
We proactively promote EQUITY in society.
